I finished up Journey 2 this week and learned alot about creating a wiki. I have created a wiki in another class, but I learned even more this time and became much more familiar with wikispaces.
As I was creating my website, I used this link that Dr. B shared with us in the module to find the Incompetech Creative Industries website, where you can download royalty free music. I thought adding some light, happy music to my homepage might be a nice touch. I downloaded a song, but ended up taking it out because I couldn't figure out how to get it to automatically play without the reader having to click on the button. Thus, an answer to your question Dr. B, about why I had a music reference at the bottom of my page, but no music. I forgot to remove the reference when I removed the link to the song.
Another website that I used frequently while browsing wikis and learning some new tricks, was Getting Tricky With Wikis.
Side Trip 2, here I come!

I think the message to play music on opening a page would be within the javascript (that you embed with the music)...but I'm sort of glad you didn't get it to work. The first time you go to a page it's kind of nice, but if you stay on it too long or have to come back to it frequently, it gets annoying...and its not nice to annoy the teacher!
ReplyDeleteLOVE "Getting Tricky with Wikis!" The temptation there, though, is to try to use every trick! The result can be as annoying as auto-playing music!
The finish line is in sight! Keep on keeping on!
